My first exposure to online photo sites was through TrekLens and their affiliated sites of TrekEarth and TrekNature. Unfortunately these sites are no longer completely functional or relevant. The websites as of now still exist, but are no longer properly maintained. This is really a shame since there were some good communities and friendships developed through these sites - below I link to what are the "remnants" still on line, linking to my respective accounts.
Update: All the Trek Sites had been taken down - you can still find remnants of it on the Internet Archives. The Links below just lead to a notice to join a new site. Tip: right-click the links and copy to the Internet Archives to see the captures.

Below a sampling of some of the many photos uploaded to these sites.

What used to be unique to these sites was the critique and workshop functions where members helped each other out.
Particularly the parent site, Trek Lens, is now almost dysfunctional. Most image and member links do not work anymore.
For how long is the last Forum post from July 2020 still available?
Update: the site has been taken down - a copy of that blog post is captured on the Internet Archives:
To the Owners, Administrators and Moderators - TL is dead
